Has some serious flaws

Has some serious flaws
I'm not an authority on welding helmets by any definition of the word so maybe they are all like this, but it has some annoying flaws:First, contrary to what others have said, mine does *not* stay up unless I crank the hinges so tight that it wants to come off my head rather than flip up when I lift it. There appear to be some detents in the hinges, but they are totally ineffective.Second, the window does not have uniform darkness -- if you turn the sensitivity up so it goes dark outside and you look up at the sky, you see dark, horizontal "bands" that go across the window. The difference in brightness seems to be about 2-3 units, so it makes a *big* difference where you look. Sometimes I'm wondering why I can't see anything, and it turns out that I've moved my head so the puddle is where the dark band is. I tried to take a picture of it below, it's difficult to make it come out but it kind of shows two bent "bands".Third, the sensitivity setting is very... sensitive. There is a very fine line between having the helmet flash you and not having it go light at all when you stop welding. I've finally gotten mine to a setting that works, and I sure hope I never bump that knob!I'm not sure whether they are all like this or if I just got a bum one, but the first two problems are really annoying.
